HLG Davos Special Report
Every month, High Lantern Group shares a collection of the most interesting perspectives on the healthcare industry’s trends and developments. We are happy to share them with you — and hope you share your thoughts with us.
There’s been no shortage of Davos coverage, but we wanted to share with you – our clients and friends – a few of HLG’s own observations.
1. The Brain Economy Is the Next Economy
In a world racing toward AI, the most valuable asset is still the human mind. Investing in brain health — attention, emotion, cognition — isn’t optional. And as this report echoes, it’s the foundation of the next economy.
2. The Hills Are Alive With Dialogue
Davos 2026 broke records: 3,000+ attendees, 850 CEOs, 400 political leaders. But the real story? A global appetite for connection in a fractured world.
3. Davos, Dublin, Detroit, Oh My!
With Larry Fink at the helm, the WEF is rethinking its roots. Wanting the event to appear in “places where the modern world is actually built,” Detroit, Dublin, Jakarta, and Buenos Aires are on the short list of industrial hubs that could serve as rotating hosts for the annual event in the future.
4. Empty Slopes, Frustrated Locals
While world leaders huddled indoors, Davos locals watched their restaurants stay empty and ski slopes go untouched. Great for powder hounds. Not so great for business.
5. Fake (Ticket) News
Not even the global elite are immune to scams: fake VIP passes to the USA House were the hottest ticket in town. The official USA House website quipped these fake tickets were “the fastest-selling fiction since The Magic Mountain.”
